Piankatank River Waterfront Homes For Sale
The Piankatank River is located between the York and the Rappahannock rivers and Mobjack Bay in the Middle Peninsula. It touches parts of Middlesex, Gloucester and Mathews counties. The Piankatank is one of the smaller rivers within the region making it tidal along its entire stretch. It flows directly into the Chesapeake Bay between the popular town of Deltaville and Gwynn's Island.
The Piankatank, due to its larger, wider and deeper brethren to the north and south (the Rappahannock and York, respectively) ands it relatively meandering path, meant less commercial development. The result is a less developed landscape and quieter setting for the homes there.
Water depth in the Piankatank is generally less than 20 feet upriver and 20-30 feet as you approach Deltaville and Gwynn's Island.
